Things to Do

So much to choose from all within walking distance. A five minute walk brings you to Trevaunance Cove home to a surfing school which caters for a wide range of ages and abilities and where popular kayaking tours are  available suitable for all ages. Coastering is also available for those looking for something more adventurous. Great to watch even if you dont want to join in.

Schooners is situated overlooking the beach, newly refurbished , a place to eat delicious meals, fresh fish or simply have a drink while you gaze over the sea with its ever changing crashing or lapping  waves or simply watch the setting of the sun as it reflects on the water(Closed between November and Easter).

On the way to the beach you will have passed ' The Driftwood Spar ' which provides a cosy pub with a wide menu and  log fires for the cold days.

A 10 minute walk into town from the beach provides butcher, baker, fishmonger, and all general amenities and a further selection of eateries, pizza, bar food and on the way in from the beach a must try is  'Genkis', a self styled zen cafe with lovely gardens to chill in.

From the lodge you can walk directly onto the cliffs joining the coastal path with  panoramic views and a host of wildlife and fauna. One direction takes you to Chapel Porth with a cafe  to get a cup of tea  and a menu which not only serves  food such as  sausage and bacon sandwiches but  'hedgehog' ice-creams. Perranporth is the other way with its  miles of sand stretching into the distance and is a busy seaside town.

A short drive gives easy access to many surrounding beaches but also St. Ives (30mins), Newquay(25mins)with its zoo, aquarium and fun park, seal sanctuary at Helston  and Padstow (40mins) .They are all lovely seaside towns with plenty to do and great restaurants.

The county town of Truro is 15mins' drive and has supermarkets, restaurants, cinema, and thriving shopping centre [Pizza Hut and MacDonalds are passed on the way in!].

If you dont want to take the car there is an excellent bus service from Newquay to Lands End.
